There is a lot of literature out there about "Finding Your Why" and, "Find Your Passion". For a long time, I was lost as to what my why should be.
I always assumed it should be something magnanimous or something that would have a great impact on society in general. There is where I would stop. "What could I do?" I thought. "I can't cure cancer or build a city for the homeless." I'm just one man.
It took a story to point me to my true north. The founder of our Partner program told the story of his wife, who is a school teacher, being forced to decide on working full time and keeping the health insurance for the family or being fired. She partnered with another teacher and both were able to work part-time and cover the class they both taught. It was the perfect situation for both as they have children of their own at home.
As she explained her concern to her husband, our Partner, he was able to show her that they had enough income through his marketing and business building skills that she did not have to work at all if she didn't want to and not to worry about the insurance, he had that covered too.
As I read his story, I realized that I can't afford that same offer to my wife. While I earn a good income it is not enough to support us both and pay for health insurance.
The thought that I can't be a good provider for my sixty-year-old wife who has worked as a dental hygienist for forty years actually brought me to tears.
My north star is to be an amble provider for my family through telling stories of living my best life and through being an Asset Control Specialist. I know each and every day brings me closer to that goal. Baby steps each day will lead to scaling Mount Everest in the next twelve months. If you want to follow my journey click here:
